Worship and prayer resources for Advent, Christmas & Epiphany

(Book and e-book)

Rachel Mann

In poetry, liturgy and narrative, Rachel Mann questions the cosy and sentimental view of the festive season and takes seriously the idea that God in Christ is born as a vulnerable outsider who transforms the world in radical ways. She revisits biblical voices, characters and stories with a sophistication and simplicity that speaks to readers from a diversity of theological and spiritual perspectives. The author is an Anglican parish priest, broadcaster and writer. She is resident poet and minor canon at Manchester Cathedral.

Daily readings for Advent from around the world

(Book and e-book)

Neil Paynter & Peter Millar

Daily readings for Advent from members, associates and friends of the Iona Community in various different countries around the world. The reflections point us to places and people where the light of God’s presence shines, often – surprising as it may seem – brightly. Their insights enable us to walk more creatively and compassionately in our own local situations, and to discover that the light is sometimes present where we least expect it.
