A blessing of the dark sky be yours,
of the white moon
and the faraway stars.

A blessing of the cold earth be yours,
of the hoarfrost
and the drifts of snow.

A blessing of a warm hearth be yours,
of a lighted fire
and a loving home.

A blessing of the Trinity be yours:
Maker,
Storyteller,
Holy Spirit,

this long night
and for evermore.

In towns and villages
In tower blocks and terraces
Christ is waiting to be born

In palaces and shanty-towns
In high streets and back-streets
Christ is waiting to be born

In the vastness of the universe
In the intimacy of our hearts
Christ is waiting to be born

Come, Lord Jesus
Come into our homes
Come into our lives
Come and stay

The Saints of God Are Down Our Street (PDF download)

A liturgy and readings for All Saints’

Ian M Fraser

Digital download:Worship and reflective resources for All Saints’ Day, with an emphasis on the saintliness of ordinary people. As Ian Fraser says:

‘Saints are a rag-tag-and-bobtail army of those who look to God and fight alongside God to transform the world’s life to fulfil his creative intention for it. They may be prone to fail and fall, but they take hold of the grace of forgiveness and the promise of reinstatement. They can pick themselves up, dust themselves down and soldier on.

‘Saints are not church-appointed but Spirit-anointed. Their lives may be prominent or quite obscure. They need not fit in with ecclesiastically preferred models. They need not be church-affiliated. They are Kingdom people, intent on Jesus Christ’s will that the whole world be transformed in justice, truth and peace.’
