Healing
Liturgical and practical resources from Iona Community members, friends and others designed to create more awareness and understanding about mental health.
Meditations & Reflections
Poems written during an emotional time of absence and loss. Out of the shadows, the darkness, and often the injustice, the need to lament and mourn goes hand in hand with the special significance of small moments and ordinary occasions.
Advent & Christmas
An Advent Calendar with a difference – in the form of a book. Instead of cardboard cut-outs the ‘windows’ we open are word-pictures and stories from the Land called Holy. Readers can respond with prayer.
Lent & Easter
Daily reflections and resources for Holy Week from members, associates and friends of the Iona Community.
Advent & Christmas
Daily readings, with prayers, poems and actions, for Advent and Christmas from members, associates and friends of the Iona Community.
Meditations & Reflections
A book of reflections, meditations and prayers for Advent and Christmas, Lent, Holy Week and Easter, Ascension and Pentecost arising out of conversations about faith, love, doubt and hope.
Meditations & Reflections
During the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown in spring 2020, many people turned to writing. Human words, sent out across the void of our isolation. Here are the voices of just a few – with poems, psalms, songs, affirmations of faith and prayers written during a full and fraught ten weeks.
Lent & Easter
Daily readings, with prayers, poems and actions, for Lent and Holy Week from members, associates and friends of the Iona Community.
Advent & Christmas
Readings, poems and prayers for Advent, moving between the islands of Mull and Iona and the hills of the West Bank and Jerusalem: places ‘on the edge’ – where God comes to us in human form, as living Word, as light out of darkness.
Books
A new collection of poems from Joy Mead. Her poems celebrate what it is to be alive and also, perhaps, what it is to contemplate death.

Books
Poems of strong and well-crafted connections - between communities in the West of Scotland and the West Bank Palestinian territories; between prayer and politics; between a lyrical delight in the natural world - and down-to-earth living, observed with warmth and humour.
Books
A collection of favourite Joy Mead poems, many of them selected by the author's readers and friends, who ask 'Where can I find -?' when they want a poem for a special occasion. Also includes some new works.
Books
Reflections, meditations, prayers, activities and liturgies for Lent. Includes a liturgy for Mother's Day, worship for Ash Wednesday, an all-age service for Shrove Tuesday for making and sharing pancakes, and other all-age resources -
A book of readings, reflections and prayers about 'the bombs and bullets and landmines we drop into the heart of other people's lives' - and the many good folk working for peace and reconciliation at home and abroad. It can be used for personal and group reflection or in worship.
Books
Reflections, meditations, prayers and liturgies for Holy Week following the journey of Jesus from Palm Sunday to Easter Day. A book which affirms that, even in the darkness of betrayal and denial and death, we can rise up and live different lives: where the justice, peace and love poured out in Christ's life can be resurrected in our own.
A free download providing an updated version of one of the poems in Glimpsed in Passing.
Books
Poems from Iona Community member Joy Mead. They come from the beauty of the glimpsed moment - a precious jewel held for a short time amid the pain and sorrow of the world, then let go into the bigger picture - The beauty is what we remember, what gives the moment its significance.
Advent & Christmas
Advent is a time of wonder and waiting - but that's not a passive thing. We need to walk into Advent with our eyes open. Join us on a cheerful, thoughtful, justice-seeking journey towards Bethlehem, a journey day by day through Advent. Jan Sutch Pickard is a former Warden of Iona Abbey, who has also been Vice President of the Methodist Conference and an Ecumenical Accompanier.
Books
A year's worth of stories and reflections to encourage us to 'look well' to the insights and inspiration we might need to live each of the 365 days as best we can, with a more hopeful vision for tomorrow.
Advent & Christmas
An Advent collection of prayers, meditations, poems and a few wee plays. A rich resource, from an original voice, for personal reflection and for congregations and small groups searching for material relevant to the 21st century. The author is Associate Minister at Dunblane Cathedral and Convener of the Church and Society Council of the Church of Scotland.
Meditations & Reflections
Short daily readings for the whole year. Short because sometimes it feels like the world is so crowded with words that it is difficult to focus on the Word. A book for those who feel themselves travelling at an increasingly frantic pace each day, and are hungry for snatches of nourishment to feed their souls.
Unfortunately a page was omitted and then appears in the wrong place when Welcoming Each Wonder by Tom Gordon was printed for the first time, for which we offer many apologies. To help rectify this, the complete chapter is available as a free download. Just put it in your basket and check out as usual. You will not be charged. The problem was corrected for later print runs, so this corrected chapter should not be necessary if you have only just purchased the book.
Daily readings for four months from a wide range of contributors within the Iona Community which can be used for group or individual reflection and are intended to inspire positive action and change in our lives.
Books
The third in the series of books of modern parables after A Blessing to Follow and Welcoming Each Wonder. By drawing us into the lives of ordinary people Tom Gordon offers insights into issues of universal relevance in an immediate, contemporary and imaginative way. Relates to lectionary cycle B.
