In this time of accelerating change, the Agape is coming into its own again, being a form suitable for a flexible range of groups and gatherings: a day of reflection away from the parish, a retreat, the ending of the day for a group of pilgrims who have met on the way, before someone leaves for a new task, moving house, marking an adoption … Sometimes it is found preceding or following celebrations of Holy Communion (for example, on Maundy Thursday). These orders can be associated with a meal or can be used alone.
