Digital download: A reflection on war and remembrance based on the ancient feast of Martinmas, 11th November. It draws on the Life of the fourth-century Martin of Tours, a conscripted soldier turned monk, and uses as a focus images from the ninth-century Saint Martin’s cross on Iona, to respond to contemporary situations.
The package consists of a service with illustrations, a PowerPoint file of the photos for projection, and a text-only version of the service for use if needed.
Rosemary Power is a member of the Iona Community who has been in pastoral, sector and congregational ministries; and is the Iona Prayer Circle Coordinator. She writes and speaks on the history of Iona, spirituality and issues of social justice.
